What Is A Digital Nomad

“Digital Nomads” are location independent people, who can live & work anywhere on the planet if they so choose – but there’s more to it than that! Such as:

They have the freedom to work from anywhere on the planet (with an internet connection). Bali, Barcelona, Belize — the world is wide open. They can roam the globe pretty much as they wish.

Digital Nomads are individuals who use telecommunications technologies (wireless internet, smartphones, Voice over IP, and cloud-based applications) to earn a living and, more generally, conduct their life in the manner of nomadic tribes-people. Such people typically work remotely—from home, coffee shops, public libraries, shared office spaces (even recreational vehicles!)—to accomplish tasks and goals that traditionally took place in a single, stationary workplace.

The population of Digital Nomads is on the rise – the  first international conference for digital nomads (DNX GLOBAL) ran in r Berlin, Germany in 2015, with a second event planned for Bangkok in March 2016.

As communications technologies continue to advance and mature the 20th Century thinking of being location dependent will become less and less entrenched as more Nomads prove that the old rules no longer hold firm!
